Places You Just Have To Visit – For Old Florida Camping
As a lifetime local, I’ve come to know some great off the beaten path places. They are worth checking out….
Here is one of my favorite Florida camping destinations, and nearby attraction.
If you on the hunt for Old Florida Camping, then Fisheating Creek Outpost is a must! It’s one of our family’s favorite camping destinations in Florida. Many people like to take their camp trailer up there with their families and the families who don’t have camp trailers often ask where can I find a camper trailer for sale? This is because they often have an easier time with moving their camping stuff around but I digress. We love the water access for fishing and paddling. The Outpost has beautiful huge old oaks dripping with moss, and an Old Florida Vibe that can’t be beat! My family used to camp here when I was growing up, then the Likes Brothers bought the land and closed the campground for years, I am so happy the property was sold and now open for camping and I can bring our kids to experience some old Florida greatness. Camping is always great fun if you remember to pack all the essentials, check out this review guide to learn about the best portable toilets – they’re so useful. If you love hanging out in nature, this Campground if chock full of Old Florida Charm and a must stop spot. They have the creek for fishing and paddling, and a lake for swimming too. A clubhouse for rent, RV hookups, open field camping, lakeside sites, and numerous primative tent sites where you could put up some heavy duty marquees nestled along the creek amongst giant old oaks – Our favorite.

This short Video is my first attempt at creating an edited video via the Magisto Android App with still photos and video clips. The 7 Second Video app I also played around with and shared a short campfire video on Instagram while on vacation.
We stopped by Gatorama in Palmdale, a short skip and jump from the campground on the same road for some fun with the kids, and I got some great shots. They have a few feeding shows throughout the day, a small zoo hosting wildlife encounters with local Florida wildlife where the kids can even hold a little gator. They also have a gift shop for souveniers. Gatorama also hosts Educational Field Trips and Bithday Parties. So when you get tired of hanging around the campsite its worth the short drive to entertain the kiddos.
If you love camping, and plan a trip to Central Florida, I highly recommend Fisheating Creek Outpost as your destination for Old Florida camping, paddling, fishing, hunting, WiFi, Tent and RV sites they have it all.
Make a stop to Gatorama as well the kids will love it!……You can get some gator tail there as well, and they ship!
