August 2016 Fab Furniture Flipping Contest – “Class It Up”
A Vintage Hutch Makeover
When I found out that The sponsor for this month’s Fab Furniture Flipping Contest™ is D Lawless Hardware I did a little jump for joy and had to take part, because I have been wanting to refab a large piece with these awesome reproduction jadeite milk glass knobs for ever to class it up and this hutch fit the bill.

This is the before shot of what I started this project with, an ever so blah Ethan Allen kitchen hutch, with that awful original orange stained finish. I had a perfect vision in mind on first sight of this piece for a vintage farmhouse kitchen makeover.
The Gorgeous Hardware
I have been in love with Jadeite forever, and these knobs are the sweet jewelry ensemble for my hutch makeover project to class it up beautifully with some glossy vintage green goodness.
I had to create a custom blend of chalky style paint to match the jadeite milk glass as closely as possible. I picked up some Dixie Bell in Buttermilk and Mint Julep for this project at my last paint store stop. You can read all about that cute little local Florida shop on my last post.
Classing it up
I wanted to keep this hutch clean and crisp , so no distressing. Finished off with clear wax on the whole piece except the table top where I used a clear topcoat for durability.
